Will the students be met at the airport when they arrive?

Yes. Pilgrims teachers will meet all students at the airport and accompany them to the school. We can meet flights to LONDON HEATHROW (LHR) or LONDON GATWICK (LGW) and that is included in your course. If you need to use a different airport we would have to charge an extra fee.

Will the students be checked in when they depart?

Yes. Pilgrims teachers will accompany all students to the airports, both London Heathrow & London Gatwick and they will check them in.

In addition, they'll wait at the airport until your child's flight has departed.

When should students arrive/depart?

Between 0900 and 1700 on Arrival Day and 0800 and 1500 on the Day of Departure. If flying from Far East we will meet flights arriving after 0600.


Can students phone home when they arrive at the school?

Yes. Students are encouraged to phone home on arrival.

Although we don't want our student to be checking their phones all the time, they will always have access to a phone in order to call home. We encourage no phones in lessons and activities.

Are Pilgrims Staff present 24 hours a day on site? Whats the Staff to Student Ratio?

Yes. Pilgrims staff stay in the same accommodation as the students and provide care 24/7.
Pilgrims has a staffing ratio of one teacher for every 4 students to ensure great supervision at all times.

What will the students be eating?

Included in the fees is breakfast, lunch and dinner where we provide a wide selection of British and international foods from a self-service buffet.

A selection of hot and cold meals are available, including a vegetarian option in all the meals. We also provide snacks and our world famous COCOA before bedtime.

Are special dietary requirements catered for?

Yes. All special dietary requirements are catered for.

Please let us know about them before the beginning of your booked course.

Should travel & medical insurance be purchased for a student?

Yes, course fees do not include travel & medical insurance. Therefore, we highly advise purchasing this before the course starts.

In the event of any minor illnesses a visit to a local doctor's surgery will be arranged.

In the event of an accident or emergency your child will be taken to a local NHS hospital where they will be seen accordingly.

Do boys and girls sleep in separate accommodation?

Yes. Boys and girls sleep in separate areas accompanied by Pilgrims staff.

What happens during the first day of a Pilgrims course?

The first morning meeting takes place in which the Daily Routine and the "Dos & Don'ts" of the course are explained.

Students also take an English test so they can be divided into different classes.

How many students will be in my child's class?

The class sizes are a maximum of 12 students. We have an average class size of 10 students over our courses.

What happens if I need to cancel my booking?

Our policy is that we only charge for a service we have delivered.

If you need to cancel your booking for any reason we will give you a FULL refund.

Will students have access to WiFi / Internet?

Yes, we offer WiFi / Internet access at all of our centres.

Will students receive a certificate that proves their attendance to the course?

Yes. All students receive a certificate that proves their attendance to the course.

This certificate includes an assessment of the student's performance in class as well as comments from their TEFL Teacher & Course Director for further improvement.
